Where will the session take place?

My favorite place to photograph families is in their homes—this is where everyone is most comfortable (and where the magic of your everyday occurs)! But if an in-home session isn’t for you, we’ll collaborate to find an outdoor location that exactly fits the vibe you’re going for—whether it’s a color colorful, urban, and Austin-y background or a wide open space surrounded by nature!

What is the booking process?

Let walk you through it! Once you’ve decided to book with me, we’ll collaborate to decide the best date and time for your session. When that’s decided, I’ll send you a link to pay your $250 deposit—this is credited towards the total cost of your session and reserves your date and time on my calendar (so no one else can take it)! The link also includes your session agreement and questionnaire. Once your deposit is paid and your agreement is signed, you’re all set! Final payment is due 24 hours prior to our session.

What happens if it rains?

Believe it or not, cloudy days make for gorgeous photos, because the light is so soft, diffused, and even, so don’t be afraid if our session day turns out cloudy! That being said, if it is pouring rain, we will reschedule to another day.

How and when will my images be delivered?

Within a week of your session, you’ll receive a sneak peek of a few of my favorite images. Then, about about two weeks later, I’ll email you a link to your private online gallery. You’ll view all of your images first in a custom slideshow set to music (spoiler alert, there may be tears)! Then, you’ll be able to see full gallery of high resolution images displayed for you to view and download!

What is the best time for a session?

The best time for an outdoor session is either early in the morning (up to about an hour after sunrise) or about an hour before sunset--this allows for the yummiest, softest, most even light and helps to avoid both harsh shadows and the wrath of the midday Texas sun! If you’re opting for an in-home session, I tend to find around 10:00am to be when the light is nice and bright indoors while everyone is still fresh!

What should I wear?

I send over a session prep guide to all of my clients with detailed wardrobe guidance, but the most important thing is that you and your family are comfortable! That being said, focus on coordinating colors and textures, not matching absolutely everything. Also, consider the decor in your home—what colors would you like to see every time you look at your displayed images?

What happens if I need to reschedule?

I completely understand that life happens and I will do my best to accommodate reschedule requests within reason. Your deposit will be credited towards the new session date/time.

How do I pay?

I accept cash, check, Venmo, and all major credit cards.

Do you edit/retouch images?

I shoot in RAW format and personally hand edit each of images to ensure true to life color, rich contrast, and gorgeous skin tones.  If necessary, I perform natural skin retouching to ensure that everyone looks their best without looking fake or plasticky!

Do I have to buy prints through you?

All of my family sessions include a substaintial print credit to your gallery store, which full of a curated collection of beautiful heirloom prints, wall art, albums and gifts from my favorite professional print labs. While you certainly don’t have to print your images through me (you’ll receive a print release with your digital images!), I cannot guarantee the quality from labs outside of my own. Just promise me this—that you WILL print your images, so they can be displayed in your home and be enjoyed every day (instead of just getting lost on a hard drive somewhere)!
